My Dearest Brothers,

On Friday, March 6, 2015, several Brothers of the Chapter welcomed me back to “The Hill” and music department, and greeted the Brothers of the Nu Mu Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and 30 of our mentees of the DeKalb Alphas Mentoring Initiative with open arms.  Not only were the young men astonished and “wow’d”, so were the Brothers of Nu Mu Lambda.  It left an indelible impression on the young men, and gave them an opportunity to experience not only the sights and sounds of collegiate scholars and musicianship, but also allowed them to have a conversation with young men who look like them, doing what they aspire to do.

It has been passed down through the years and said many times, “People don’t have to do anything for you.  So when they do, you ought to thank them.”  I, Bro. Darius R. Branch, Fall 2000 initiate into the Omicron Gamma Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America, Inc. do hereby THANK YOU for outstanding service, leadership, and “instilling an awareness of music’s important role in the enrichment of the human spirit.”  Due to your brotherly kindness and sacrifice, you upheld and exemplified the purpose and principles of our beloved SINFONIA.

The conversation, presentation, and parting gifts were well-received and very much appreciated.  Brothers, I have been given and accepted a multitude of laudatory remarks and gratitude on your behalf.  So please, take a bow, and continue to do what you’re doing!  You all are indeed men of the highest type.  The experience you created will not soon be forgotten by any in attendance.  Again I say, Thank You!!

Fraternally, I am,

Darius R. Branch
